Certificates of License to Teach Classifications
Initial Professional Certificate (IPC)
During the valid dates of the Initial Professional Certificate classification, the certificate holder shall complete the following requirements:
o Verification of four (4) years of state-approved teaching experience;
o Develop and implement a professional development plan of at least thirty (30) contact hours, approved by the employing school district, to include clearly stated goals for improvement and enrichment;
o Participate in a mentoring program for a minimum of two (2) school years, the guidelines for which shall be established by the local board of education;
o Participate in a beginning teacher assistance program designed in cooperation with a Missouri teacher education program to include, but not be limited to, assistance in classroom management, instructional strategies and on-going support; and
o Participate in the district’s Performance-Based Teacher Evaluations (PBTE).
Career Continuous Professional Classification (CCPC) - $35 fee
A Career Continuous Professional Classification will be issued to an applicant upon completion and verification of the following requirements:
o Four (4) years of state-approved teaching experience;
o The development of implementation of a professional development plan of at least thirty (30) contact hours approved by the employing school district to include clearly stated goals for improvement and enrichment;
o Participate in a mentoring program for a minimum of two (2) school years, the guidelines for which shall be established by the local board of education;

• The CCPC classification is continuous upon verification by the employing school district that the certificate holder has completed fifteen (15) contact hours of professional development per school year.
