Department of Career and Technology Education
Welcome to the Department of Career and Technology Education (CTE). We prepare teachers that will be highly effective at preparing their own students for life and careers. The Department is a dynamic and diverse unit with 13 full-time faculty and staff in six distinct program areas, offering degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels. These include:
Undergraduate Programs
- Career and Technology Teacher Education
(BSE and minors) with three certification areas
Business Teacher Education
Engineering and Technology Teacher Education including Project Lead the Way (PLTW)
Family Consumer Sciences Teacher Education - Instructional
Technology (minor)
- Occupational Education (BS)
Graduate Programs
General Education
The department serves general education through several courses including IGEN 3116: Creative Problem Solving, BTE 1210: Essentials of Managing Information, and CTE 2000: Technology and Society.
