Ms. Jennifer Hedrick
Assistant Director, Child Development Lab
Elementary and Early Childhood Education
Lovinger Room 1270
Jennifer Hedrick is a Preschool Teacher in the Child Development Lab as well as the Instructor of Practicum in Child Development under the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood. She graduated from the University of Central Missouri (UCM) in 2009 with a B.S. in Education degree in Child and Family Development. She is currently working through the Early Childhood certification process. Fro the two years of her education at Longview Community College, she was a nanny for three children. In 2006 she transferred to UCM and became a work study student in the Child Development Lab and provided childcare for a three month old baby boy. While finishing her degree at UCM, Jennifer worked at YMCA's Early Learning Center in Blue Springs. When she graduated from UCM (2009), she was hired as UCM's Child Development Lab's preschool teacher. Currently she is very excited to also be the Instructor for ECEL 3260: Practicuum Class. She loves the kids so much, and finds it fun to work with college students about to embark on a similar path! Her goal in teaching is to give both children and teachers confidence in expressing their ideas and creativity in everything they do. It is important to show the college students how truly great kids (at any age) really are, and although they might be at different learning stages, it is important to understand where each child is and do the best to meet him/her there.
