C. Sue Feldman
With a career that includes many successes as a university faculty and professional staff member, C. Sue Feldman has been a key player in many activities that have helped students realize their educational dreams. She has retired as director emeriti of academic advisement after 21 years.
Ms. Feldman’s career at the university began in 1973 as an instructor in the Department of Psychology, where she was named Outstanding Professor by the department in 1983. She left the classroom in 1985 to serve for six years as scholarships and awards officer, and in 1991 became director of academic advisement, a position she held until her retirement this year.
Her interest in using technology to benefit students has paid off in the form of new innovations in the advisement area. Central students now have access to information online to assist them with degree program planning and enrollment services. She championed the implementation of a Degree Audit Review System as an advisement tool available to all students via the Web. She also designed and implemented a new transfer student orientation program, developed the first-year student orientation program, sponsored the Majors Fair in conjunction with the Student Government Association, and hosted Community College Articulation Days at Central.
Ms. Feldman earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Central.
