Welcome to the Gateway Center!

We are committed to providing accurate and timely information in a comfortable atmosphere to new transfer students and all students who are exploring their choice of majors.

The Gateway Center “TEAM” provides a one-stop for all of the services necessary to ensure a smooth, accurate, and timely transfer process. These services include transcript evaluation, intake advising and enrollment, and the review of exceptions to university policy for unique circumstances.

We provide individualized career counseling, as well as offering courses in Exploring Majors and Careers. Whether one-on-one, or in class, special emphasis is given to an exploration of self through the use of assessments, counseling, activities, discussions, and interviews. The focus starts with facilitating the methodical discovery of a student’s professional passion, and shifts to the development of a plan to accomplish his/her goals.

We provide student-focused academic advising for both Open Option and General Studies students. For Open Option students, the emphasis is on assisting the student in making well-informed course selections that progress them towards graduation while minimizing the risk of expending unnecessary time, energy, and money on coursework that do not. For General Studies students, the emphasis is on evaluating all of the coursework they've already completed and developing a plan for course completion.
