Full Admission to Teacher Education
Students who want to obtain an initial teaching certificate in mathematics must be admitted to the teacher education program. Admission to the teacher education program is required before enrolling in courses identified in the undergraduate catalog as Professional Education Requirements. General information regarding admission to the teacher education program may be found at
http://www.ucmo.edu/cert/admission.cfm
In addition to meeting general requirements, students seeking secondary mathematics certification must pass a written competency test and satisfactorily complete a departmental interview before they may be admitted to the teacher education program. The competency test and interview should be completed during the first semester of the junior year. A practice test is available to help students prepare for the written test and interview.
