2014 IMPACT Freshman Leadership
July 23-25, 2014
The IMPACT Freshmen Leadership Retreat is a three day retreat for first year incoming students. Student involvement in college is a prime indicator of success while on campus and into one’s career. Leadership is developed in many ways, including membership and holding positions in organizations, volunteerism and formal leadership programs. Impact is attempting to combine all of these aspects into one central focus. The Office of Student Activities is kicking off a comprehensive leadership program with the Impact Retreat.
The retreat provides students with an opportunity to meet nearly 200 other incoming students, 35 upper class students, faculty and staff. During the retreat students will participate in team building activities, information sessions, special presentations, ice breakers, and become acclimated to the University of Central Missouri and Warrensburg. The Retreat is limited to 200 students. We hope you will join us!
Goals for IMPACT:
- To provide information about how students can get involved at UCM
- To explain services and resources available to students
- To get students thinking about how to develop their leadership skills
- To provide opportunities for the students to learn more about themselves and their peers
- To acclimate students to UCM
- To provide networking opportunities for students
Cost: $75 which includes lodging, meals, t-shirt, and draw string bag. The cost of the retreat can be charged to your student account or a check can be mailed to: Office of Student Activities, IMPACT, Union 217, Warrensburg, MO 64093.
