Wellness Challenge! - Fit Community
This program could alter your coming year! The University of Central Missouri is challenging the members of the Warrensburg Community to a Fitness Challenge. But ultimately we are challenging you as an individual to improve yourself. If you have any questions please stop by the Student Recreation & Wellness Center or give us a call.
Beginning January 9 and running through April 9 the University of Central Missouri and the City of Warrensburg are going to sponsor a wellness challenge.
Here’s how it all works-
We know that teamwork fosters greater success as we try to improve on existing habits or create new ones. For that reason we have created a team challenge. So you and 2-9 of your friends, co-workers, family, or students can create a team for the competition.
This is not a weight loss program, this is a wellness initiative. You may lose weight as you participate but we want to help you improve many facets of your health.
Each team will register for a fee of $30, which allows you to create a team of 3-10 members. Along with your registration each team member will go through a pre & post assessment. The assessments will be held at the Student Recreation & Wellness Center from 4:30pm – 9pm on January 5 & 6.
Upon registration you will be given a web site where you will self report your activities. The point system allows you to get rewards for activity such as drinking 64oz of water in a day, walking 3 extra blocks to work, having a yearly physical, or attending a fit talk with a losal doctor that we will be offering.
Many of the same things you can get points for with the Blue Cross Blue Shield rewards will be the same as our point system. SO WHY NOT DO BOTH!!!
We have lots of prizes that will be given throughout the competition and grand prizes for teams at the end of the competition.
So come on and join us as we strive to make both the university community and the greater Warrensburg community a healthier place to live.
