Criteria for Scientific Books
Three Criteria for Scientific Books
Our research suggests that these three criteria can help distinguish between scientific and non-scientific Psychological Science books.
1. Does the book list references? References are listing of the specific research articles discussed in the book, with information such as the journal they were published in and the year of publication?
2. Is the author's affiliation listed? Most scientists are affiliated with a research institution such as a university.
3. Does the book describe research methodology? Scientific books provide details about how particular studies were conducted.
