Scholarships for Students Transferring to UCM Spring 2012, Summer 2012 or Fall 2012
COMMUNITY COLLEGE TRANSFER STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
( 3.50 – 4.00 cumulative transfer gpa)
(Students transferring from Linn State Technical College are also considered.)
Value: $1000 per semester
Eligibility: To be eligible, a student must meet the following criteria:
- Regularly-admitted to UCM by November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or regularly-admitted by April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters
- Incoming undergraduate community college transfer student who has never before attended UCM
- Transfer from an accredited community college or Linn State Technical College and begin attending UCM as a full-time student the Spring 2012, Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semester to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree
- At least 24 earned community college semester credit hours (post high school graduation) for all classes completed prior to November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters
- Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.50 or higher for all classes completed prior to November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters
To Apply: Submit the UCM Application for Admission, the application for admission fee, and an official transcript from each college/university attended. Submit all of these items to the UCM Office of Admissions (1401 Ward Edwards Building, Warrensburg, MO 64093) by November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters.
Please note: If transferring to UCM Spring 2012, transcripts must include all grades earned prior to November 1, 2011. If transferring to UCM Summer 2012 or Fall 2012, transcripts must include all grades earned prior to April 1, 2012.
No other application is necessary for the Community College Transfer Student Scholarship. Completing the application for admission process prior to November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters is strongly encouraged. Scholarship recipients will be notified by mail at their home address.
Renewability: The Community College Transfer Student Scholarship may be received for a maximum of six (6) semesters of undergraduate study provided the recipient:
- Maintains status as a full-time undergraduate student at UCM,
- Successfully completes at least 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester at UCM,
- Remains in good academic standing (not be placed on academic probation), and
- Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 3.25
The $1000 per semester Community College Transfer Student Scholarship may be received in combination with the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship.

- Be a vital, involved member of Phi Theta Kappa (Phi Theta Kappa Advisor will be contacted to determine level of involvement, PTK leadership positions held, contribution to PTK committee work/projects, etc.)

(4-year college/university transfer student)

- Incoming undergraduate 4-year college/university transfer student who has never before attended UCM
- Transfer from an accredited 4-year college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student the Spring 2012, Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semester to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree
- At least 24 earned semester credit hours (post high school graduation) for all classes completed prior to November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters
- Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.50 or higher for all classes completed prior to November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters

MIDWEST STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Value: At University of Central Missouri, non-Missouri residents are charged the in-state tuition rate plus a non-resident fee. The Midwest Student Exchange Program will provide 50% of the non-resident portion of the fees of qualifying students. Students are responsible for the remaining 50% of the non-resident portion of the fees plus the in-state tuition rate.
Eligibility Criteria for Transfer Students: To be eligible, a student must meet the following criteria:
- Regularly-admitted to UCM by November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or regularly-admitted by April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters
- Incoming undergraduate 2-year or 4-year college/university transfer student who has never before attended UCM
- Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student the Spring 2012, Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semester to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree
- At least 24 earned semester credit hours (post high school graduation) for all classes completed prior to November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters
- Cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.50 or higher for all classes completed prior to November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters
- Legal resident of one of the following participating states: Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota or Wisconsin
Recipients of the Kansas Grant, Stateline Grant, Second Generation Grant for Transfers, Non-Resident Fee Credit, Non-Resident Scholar Award, non-resident fee portion of the UCM Educational Development Program, or other programs that cover all or partial non-resident fees may not also benefit from the Midwest Student Exchange Program.
To Apply: Submit the UCM Application for Admission, (indicating your county and state of legal residence) the application for admission fee, and an official transcript from each college/university attended. Submit all of these items to the UCM Office of Admissions (1401 Ward Edwards Building, Warrensburg, MO 64093) by November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters.

Non-resident fees and a credit equal to 50% of the non-resident fees will both appear on the UCM accounts of Midwest Student Exchange Program participants.
Renewability for Transfer Students: Transfer students may benefit from the Midwest Student Exchange Program for a maximum of six (6) semesters of undergraduate study provided the recipient:
- Maintains status as a full-time UCM undergraduate student,
- Successfully completes at least 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester at UCM,
- Remains in good academic standing (not be placed on academic probation),
- Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 3.25, and
- Maintain legal residency in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota or Wisconsin
SECOND GENERATION GRANT FOR TRANSFERS
Value: Covers up to $1000 per semester of non-resident fees
Eligibility Criteria for Transfer Students: To be eligible, a student must meet the following criteria:
- Regularly-admitted to UCM by November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or regularly-admitted by April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters
- Incoming undergraduate 2-year or 4-year college/university transfer student who has never before attended UCM
- Transfer from an accredited 2-year or 4-year, public or private college/university and begin attending UCM as a full-time student the Spring 2012, Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semester to pursue his/her first baccalaureate degree
- Non-resident of Missouri
- Child/grandchild or step-child/step-grandchild of an individual who earned a degree (bachelors, masters, education specialist, or cooperative doctorate) from University of Central Missouri
Recipients of the Second Generation Grant for Transfers may not also benefit from the Kansas Grant, Stateline Grant, Non-Resident Fee Credit, Midwest Student Exchange Program, Non-Resident Scholar Award, non-resident fee portion of the UCM Educational Development Program, or other programs that cover all or partial non-resident fees.
To Apply: Submit the UCM Application for Admission, (indicating you are the child/grandchild of a UCM alumni) the application for admission fee, and an official transcript from each college/university attended. Submit all of these items to the UCM Office of Admissions (1401 Ward Edwards Building, Warrensburg, MO 64093) by November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters.
No other application is necessary for the Second Generation Grant for Transfers. Completing the application for admission process prior to November 1, 2011 if transferring to UCM the Spring 2012 semester or April 1, 2012 if transferring to UCM the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semesters is strongly encouraged. Scholarship recipients will be notified by mail at their home address.
Full non-resident fee charges will appear on the UCM accounts of Second Generation Grant for Transfers recipients. The Second Generation Grant for Transfers will cover up to $1000 per semester of the non-resident fee charges.
Renewability for Transfer Students: The Second Generation Grant for Transfers may be received for a maximum of six (6) semesters of undergraduate study provided the recipient:
- Maintains status as a full-time UCM undergraduate student,
- Successfully completes at least 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester at UCM,
- Remains in good academic standing (not be placed on academic probation),
- Maintains a minimum cumulative UCM grade-point average of 3.25, and
- Maintains legal residence status as a non-Missouri resident
STATELINE GRANT (for Spring 2012 and Summer 2012 Transfers)
Value: 100 % of non-resident fees
Eligibility: Regularly-admitted undergraduate students whose permanent legal residence is located in one of the following ten Kansas counties that border Missouri: Atchison, Bourbon, Cherokee, Crawford, Doniphan, Johnson, Leavenworth, Linn, Miami or Wyandotte.
The Stateline Grant is not initially available to transfer students admitted on academic probation. Students deemed ineligible for the Stateline Grant when admitted (because they are admitted on academic probation) may receive the Stateline Grant in the future provided they have earned a minimum of 24 hours at UCM during the previous 12 months and their UCM cumulative grade-point average is at least 2.0.
The Stateline Grant can not be combined with the Second Generation Grant for Transfers, Non-Resident Fee Credit, Midwest Student Exchange Program, Non-Resident Scholar Award, non-resident fee portion of the UCM Educational Development Program, or other programs that cover all or partial non-resident fees.
To Apply: Submit the UCM Application for Admission (indicating your county and state of legal residence), the application for admission fee, and an official transcript from each college/university attended.
No other application is necessary for the Stateline Grant. Non-resident fees and a credit equal to the non-resident fees will both appear on the UCM accounts of Stateline Grant recipients.
Renewability: Automatically renewed for students who maintain legal residence in one of the following 10 Kansas counties that border Missouri: Atchison, Bourbon, Cherokee, Crawford, Doniphan, Johnson, Leavenworth, Linn, Miami or Wyandotte and are not recipients of the Second Generation Grant for Transfer Students, Non-Resident Fee Credit, Midwest Student Exchange Program, Non-Resident Scholar Award, non-resident fee portion of the UCM Educational Development Program, or other programs that cover all or partial non-resident fees.
KANSAS GRANT (will replace Stateline Grant beginning Fall 2012)
Value: 100 % of non-resident fees
Eligibility: Regularly-admitted undergraduate transfer students whose permanent legal residence is located in one of the following fifteen Kansas counties: Atchison, Bourbon, Cherokee, Crawford, Doniphan, Douglas, Geary, Johnson, Leavenworth, Linn, Miami, Pottawatomie, Riley, Shawnee or Wyandotte.
The Kansas Grant is not initially available to transfer students admitted on academic probation. Please note: UCM scholarships may be reduced or canceled in the event the University of Central Missouri Board of Governors determines a financial exigency exists or state appropriations are substantially reduced to such an extent that funding is not available.
