Photography Area Mission Statement
To provide a diverse learning environment designed to prepare graduates with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for career success in photography. Areas of student development will include aesthetics, professionalism, technology and business.
Photography Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science Degree in photography, the graduate will be able to:
Demonstrate visual literacy.
Recognize and demonstrate professional photographic ethics.
Demonstrate self-motivated learning behavior.
Embrace technological change.
Recognize qualities of existing light and be able to control lighting.
Apply accepted principles and practices for managing information, processes, systems, materials, finances, and human resources in the photographic industry. Specify the affective attributes and technical aspects of color and light.
Demonstrate communication, conceptual, and creative skills.
Demonstrate the necessary technical and professional skills associated with creating and producing high quality media on demand.
Use appropriate procedures to meet the specifications and deadlines of discerning clientele.
Produce and maintain a dynamic portfolio relevant to career goals.
Select and use appropriate equipment for specific purposes.
