Students are strongly encouraged to have health insurance, either as a dependant on someone else's plan, or through the health insurance available to enrolled University of Central Missouri students. It is very important that you have adequate healthcare insurance while you are in college. The University contracts with a student health insurance carrier to provide a low cost, high quality health insurance plan.
Like most health care providers, the UCM Health Center charges for office visits and other medical services we provide – laboratory work, medications, immunizations, and miscellaneous supplies. We will gladly bill your health insurance company directly for most services. Be sure to bring your insurance card with you to each appointment at the Health Center. A co-pay will be collected at the time of service, unless your insurance card specifies otherwise. The Health Center will accept payment made by your health insurance company for office visits as payment in full, so the only additional bill you might receive would be for medications, lab work, or supplies not covered by your insurance. These charges not covered by your insurance will be applied to your student account.
Charges for co-pays, medications, or other ancillary services not covered by your insurance can be paid at the time of service either by cash, check, credit card, or applied to your student account.
Please check with office personnel for assistance or questions.
