USE OF TOBACCO GUIDELINES

Responsibility: All Building Managers
PROCEDURE
A. Building Managers will designate at least one doorway/area per building near which tobacco use is allowed. These designated areas will not be near the main or most heavily used entrance to the building.
B. Signs will be placed in appropriate places to inform campus constituents and visitors of designated tobacco use and non-use areas.
C. Individuals who use tobacco on university premises are responsible for the proper disposal of tobacco products and by-products in appropriate waste receptacles. Improper disposal of tobacco products and by-products may be considered littering.
D. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to use personal and community resources for tobacco use cessation assistance. Information about tobacco use cessation will be provided through the University Health Center.
E. Any concern with the possible violation of this policy should be brought to the attention of the appropriate supervisor or building manager.
