In-State Tuition for Veterans
The University of Central Missouri values and respects our American military, both past and present, regardless of their state of residence. In the past, financial hardship could be created when out-of-state resident military veterans enrolled at UCM because they had to pay out-of-state tuition.
In concert with UCM's military and veteran presidential initiative, effective with the fall 2013 semester, current or prospective out-of-state students, who are U.S. military veterans will be eligible to pay in-state tuition, a benefit that was previously only available to active-duty personnel. This tuition reduction will apply to on-campus course enrollment at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Eligibility applies to all honorably discharged, degree or certificate seeking, military veterans from all branches of the U.S. military. Eligibility also includes service in the National Guard or Reserve. This benefit applies only to on-campus courses, not those delivered online through through the Office of Extended Studies.
To verify eligibility, individuals must provide UCM the appropriate military documentation via their Department of Defense DD Form 214 "Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty", issued upon a military service member's retirement, separation or discharge from active-duty military.
