Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol

OBJECTIVE

The members of GAMMA believe that fraternity and sorority members can play a uniquely effective role in encouraging their peers to consider, talk honestly about, and develop responsible habits and attitudes toward the use or non-use of alcohol. GAMMA sponsors late night alternative activities for Greek chapter members. The Gold Star Award is presented during Greek Week to the chapter that accumulates the most points through attending meetings, hosting alcohol-free programming, and having brotherhood and sisterhood events.

How to get involved:
You can get involved with GAMMA in many different ways. First step is to come to the meetings. Here you will learn about initiatives that GAMMA is taking in the Greek community and on campus. You can sign up to help out with fundraisers, or team up your chapter with GAMMA to host an alcohol-free event. Offer to be a GAMMA representative for your chapter, go to all the meetings, communicate with the exec board and advisor, encourage your chapter members to attend meetings, and share important information with your chapter. Go to late night events hosted by GAMMA or offer to help plan one.

Make your organization’s event worth GAMMA points, fill out the Event for Points Request Form and turn it into the VSAP office (ADM 102) two weeks prior to your event.
