Tuition Assistance – Many companies provide tuition assistance to help employees enhance their skills and advance their education. The benefits may cover per-credit-hour costs, fees, books and other materials. Employers recognize the immediate benefit that continuing employee education, training and development provide the organization in improved job performance and organizational efficiency.

Workforce Funding – Government funded scholarships for those in career transition are available for those who qualify. Funding eligibility is determined by One-Stop Career Centers. One Stops are federal and state-funded career centers that offer training referrals, career counseling, job listings, and similar employment-related services. To find your local office, go to www.servicelocator.org and enter your zip code.

Student Loans – A number of private educational lenders offer flexible, low-cost loan products specifically designed to help working adults who enroll in an accredited distance-learning undergraduate or graduate degree program or certificate-granting programs. The best starting point is your own bank or credit union, however there are several other national lending organizations, information about which may be obtained from the University of Central Missouri Office of Student Financial Services. This office can be contacted by telephone (660-543-8266) or by email at www.ucmo.edu/sfs/ServiceTracking
