Professional Pilot

UCM's Professional Pilot program prepares you for a successful flying career in the aviation industry by instilling you with aeronautical knowledge, hands-on experiences and flying skills that exceed Federal Aviation Administration requirements. Graduates of this program pursue careers as pilots for national and regional airlines, corporate airlines and the military.

Aviation Maintenance Management 2+2

The Aviation Maintenance Management option is a 2+2 program for students that have earned an associate degree in a related field and have an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate. This program will prepare you for supervisory roles in airline, corporate and general aviation maintenance departments.

Graduates of this program will have:

  • Management, financial and budgetary skills.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance and airframe systems.
  • Knowledge of aircraft communication systems.
  • The ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair airframe systems.

Aviation Management - Airport Management option

Airport Management emphasizes the business, planning and personnel management background needed to be successful in this area. Potential careers include working as an airport director, operations director, personnel manager, facilities manager or grounds manager, in addition to a variety of other positions.

Graduates of this program will understand:

  • The overall systems planning and structure of airports.
  • Airport, airline and aviation industry finance.
  • Aviation safety and security needs.

Aviation Management - Flight Operations Management option

Flight Operations Management provides you with the education and experience needed to work in the flight operations division of an airline or other aviation-related company. In this program, you will complete the private pilot certification with an instrument rating, plus business and management courses.

Potential careers include: FAA safety inspector, operations duty officer, flight operations technician, dispatch operations coordinator and more.
Graduates of this program will understand:

  • Safety management systems, risk management tools and crisis planning.
  • Overall structure of flight operations and regulations.
  • Management of a flight operation: finance, marketing, training, project management and human resources.

Master of Science in Aviation Safety

UCM's Master of Science in Aviation Safety degree is one of a very few academic programs to address this particular nationwide need. This program provides you with knowledge of management and safety issues in aviation and the ability to establish or administer safety programs in business, industry or government, offering you a professional capstone for any background in aviation.
