Many communication-related degree programs require students to complete an internship. Internships provide students with opportunities to apply learned principles and skills in off-campus professional environments. Most of the time, students arrange their own internship opportunities according to their fields of study, unique interests, and career goals.
To qualify for internship credit, students must first meet certain requirements that include successful completion of specific degree-related courses and a minimum GPA. All internships require departmental approval, and students are advised to begin that process the semester before they wish to start the internship.
For additional information about internships, consult with your departmental adviser.
