Mike Swenson, president of Crossroads, presented to the PR campaigns and integrated marketing communications classes, as well as an open presentation about today's changing public relations landscape. |

Spring Welcome Back Social at Fitter's

After a month apart during winter break, UCM PR students were ready to get back in the swing of things! Forty-five PRSSA members attended the Welcome Back Social at Fitter's on February 7. Talk about a great turnout! Congratulations to Stephanie Barnes, the newly elected secretary and Robert Fischer, the newly elected treasurer. Looks like it's going to be another great semester for PRSSA!

PR students, alumni and friends gathered on December 4 to celebrate the holiday season. The event was complete with food, a white elephant gift exchange and tacky sweater competition. Ian Rowland and Jordan Lee (upper-right) were finalists for the tacky sweater competition. The PR Program hopes to make Thanksmas an annual event!
KC PRSSA Day

Eight PR students represented the University of Central Missouri at the annual KC PRSSA Day on Friday, Nov. 4 at the Kansas City Public Library. Events included "A Day in the Life of a PR Pro" panel discussion, a career fair, and keynote speaker Spike Jones, Senior Vice President for Word of Mouth/Digital at Fleishman-Hillard.

The UCM chapter of PRSSA hosted its annual PR Pro Day on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in the UCM Elliott Union Ballroom. PR professionals participated in a panel discussion as well as a breakout session to address the questions of individual students.
