Creative Engine
On Monday and Tuesday, April 15 - 16, 2013. Teams of creative minds will fire up their engines for a 24-hour marathon of imaginative problem solving. Commercial art students will provide graphic design assistance to a selected group of non-profit organizations from the off-campus community.
Proposals for such projects as, logo design, newsletter design, event posters, brochures, web pages, and print ads, may be submitted to the art department at UCM by March 25th for consideration. Under the direction of the Graphic Design faculty, projects will be selected and assigned to student creative teams for completion in a 24-hour period beginning at 10:00 am and ending at 10:00 am the next day.
The selected organizations will be asked to provide all relevant materials such as photos, text, etc. by April 8th. Completed designs will be in the form of camera-ready art or other suitable placement formats. The creative teams will present their designs to the organizations at a time and place of the organization’s choosing.
The Graphic Arts Technology Management program will be partnering with The Creative Engine again this year to provide printing for a select group of projects. If your project is chosen for this service you can elect to have your finished project printed for only the cost of materials. Otherwise it is the responsibility of the organizations to have their designs printed or otherwise placed. The Creative Engine will not be responsible for on-going maintenance of completed projects such as newsletters and web pages. All work will be done pro bono and will be final. No revisions or follow-up work will be done by The Creative Engine.
