Honor Wind Symposium
November 17, 2012
Since 1991, the UCM Honor Wind Symposium has provided an opportunity for talented, high school performers to explore the unique literature and musical challenges of like-instrument ensembles. Ensembles included in the symposium are: flute ensemble, clarinet choir, oboe/bassoon ensemble, trumpet ensemble, horn choir, trombone choir, tuba/euphonium ensemble, and jazz combo.
Each ensemble is coached and conducted by the UCM faculty member who teaches that specific instrument. All ensembles participate in a short program at the end of the event. The Symposium is a free event, and parents are encouraged to attend. During the morning of the symposium, a special session on financial aid and scholarships is offered for the parents of students participating in the symposium. 2012 marks the 22nd year of the UCM Honor Wind Symposium.
