UCM’s General Education Program provides the foundation for Learning to a Greater Degree. Required General Education courses prepare you for success in any field. These courses will ask you to write, speak, analyze information, and think critically. You will learn how to apply these skills to real-world problems and how to make connections among different areas of knowledge. With this foundation, you understand your major and how it contributes to the world.
The General Education Program consists of courses in several Skill and Knowledge areas. Work in your major builds on this foundation. The 10 competencies describe the common core of what all UCM graduates learn.
