  • Political Science: These programs will help you prepare for a wide range of careers in public service, including the private and nonprofit sectors, law, education and others. You may choose to specialize in American Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations or Law and Theory.
  • International Studies: Take classes in a variety of study areas, including political science, geography, sociology and anthropology. These programs are great options if you want to analyze and study a variety of perspectives on global issues, such as the environment and human rights. You may specialize in Human Development and the Physical Environment, Global Society and Culture, International Relations, Peace and Justice or International Policy Studies.

Find your Political Science and International Studies future at UCM

Nearly all of our faculty members have also won college and university awards in teaching, so you know they’ll bring cutting-edge ideas and concepts to the classroom. 
  • Access exciting experiential learning opportunities: Apply what you learn in our state-of-the-art Civic Engagement Experiential Classroom, where UCM’s Mock Trial and Model United Nations teams hold practices. Find internships to earn real-world job experience, or you may even study abroad. You’ll find other opportunities to expand your knowledge and network with your classmates when you help organize events during Politics and Social Justice Week each spring.
  • Receive personalized guidance when you need it: At UCM, you’ll have a variety of resources available to you on your path to graduation — and a successful career. Meet with one of your instructors, our Department Chair and Program Coordinator for Political Science, the International Studies Program Coordinator or our Career and Life Design Center for additional support.
