Pam Smith Kelly received her BME from Central Missouri State University and her MME from the University of Kansas. She was an instrumental and vocal music educator in Missouri and Kansas for 35 years. Mrs. Kelly served as the Elementary and Middle Level Chairs for Northeast KMEA and for KMEA for 10 years. Pam also received the NEKMEA Outstanding Music Educator in 2010. Pam actively serves as guest director, clinician, and judge for bands, choirs, and orchestras around the country and abroad. As the President of Claude T. Smith Publications, Inc., she is dedicated to publishing the instrumental and choral works of her late father and other composers and arrangers. She specializes in presenting clinics and guest conducting her father’s music and has been the founding conductor for five Kansas City-based Wind Ensembles and Orchestras. Pam Smith Kelly is the author of “Claude T. Smith: Harmony from Within,” a biography on the life and music of her father. Mrs. Kelly is currently the founding co-conductors for EncoreKC! Choir (An Over-50 Choir) and teaching Middle Level Music Methods at the University of Central Missouri (her Alma Mater). Pam is a member of ASCAP, American Choral Directors Association, Association of Concert Bands, National Association for Music Education, Mu Phi Epsilon (Patron), National Band Association, Sigma Alpha Iota (KC Alumni Chapter), and Women Band Directors Association. She and her family reside in Overland Park, KS.
