Joe Burkard (He/Him) is a Theatrical Designer, Technical Director, and 3D Experience Designer who was raised in St. Louis Missouri. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Technical Theatre with an emphasis in Scenic Design along with a Minor in Architectural Drafting from The University of Central Missouri. He then went to New York City and received his Master of Fine Arts Degree in Theatrical Design from Brooklyn College CUNY. In his eight years in New York City Joe worked in many facets of design. Most recently he worked as a 3D Technical Experience Designer for Momentum Worldwide. While there he worked closely with clients such as American Express, Verizon, Chick-fil-A, Walmart, and more. Some of the highlight projects he got to work on were: The Amex US Open Fan Experience, The Amex Coachella Tent, The Time Shop Pop-up by Chick-fil-A, and The Verizon 5G Super Bowl 54 Experience. Before that Joe taught, designed, and technical directed at Brooklyn College CUNY, LIU Post, and Poly Prep Country Day School. Also during those years of teaching he had the privilege to work on many shows at all levels of theatre. From working with Hudson Theatrical Associates on Broadway shows such as Hamilton, Penn & Teller on Broadway, and The Visit. To Off-Broadway shows such as Boys of a Certain Age, Pretty Filthy The Musical, and many more. Some other interests of Joe’s outside of the arts are backpacking, cycling, foam smithing, furniture making, thrift shopping, and listening to a good podcast.
