CTE Learn Credit Opportunities

Work Toward Undergraduate or Graduate Credit

UCM offers undergraduate and graduate credit for educators completing CTE Learn requirements. You can earn one credit hour for every four CTE Learn Modules that you complete. CTE Learn course credit is only $125/credit hour!

What is CTE Learn?

CTE Learn is the online learning network for the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). With over 150 self-paced courses for CTE professionals, you can enroll in any course at any time to meet your individual learning needs.

Each CTE Learn course provides 4 hours of continuing education credits and is endorsed by the University of Central Missouri (UCM), a public, regionally accredited university. You have the opportunity to earn college credit for your completed CTE learn courses.

Whether you are looking for engaging professional development or a more convenient way to obtain continuing education credits and advance your career, CTE Learn courses are designed for you. There is an array of topics that focus on effective and proven teaching and leading strategies. You can search or browse the course topics on the CTE Learn webpage (https://www.ctelearn.org/)

You may use your official transcript from UCM to meet your continuing education requirements and/or apply for a degree program. Each block of 4 CTE Learn courses can earn you 1 semester Credit Hour at UCM. A separate application is required for each block of 4 courses.

What is Required for CTE LEARN Credit?

UCM will recognize completion of CTE Learn courses through the submission of the CTE Learn course completion certificates for each of the four CTE Learn courses.

Each block of four CTE Learn courses can earn you one semester credit hour at UCM at the undergraduate level.

For a graduate credit hour, we require a graduate-level term paper to be written and submitted to earn graduate university credit in addition to the course completion certificates. A rubric for that paper and a course syllabus are available for download.

Enrollment for CTE Learn credit will not be processed until all required documents are submitted, including the paper.

All required items must be received no later than the close of business on the last day of the semester to allow time to review items before grade submission deadlines. Required items received after that time can be carried over to the following semester.

Please do not send payment with your materials. Instructions for payment methods will be provided once you are enrolled.

How Do I Apply for CTE Learn Course Credit?

If you want to seek course credit for your CTE Learn training, please start by completing one of our Admissions Applications.

Undergraduate Credit Students

If you are new to UCM and wish to take CTE Learn courses as non-degree seeking (you can always apply your earned CTE Learn course credit to a degree later), select "Other Applicant Types" and then select the "Non-Degree Seeking" Apply button to proceed. You can select CTE Learn course (consisting of four CTE Learn courses/modules per one credit hour) per application, so please contact us for personal assistance if you wish to enroll in more than one CTE Learn course at the same time. There are no application fees for non-degree seeking students.

Graduate Credit Students

If you are new to UCM and wish to take CTE Learn courses as non-degree seeking (you can always apply your earned CTE Learn course credit to a degree later), select "Non-Degree Seeking" and then select the "Special Credit Application" to proceed. The application may limit you to selecting only one CTE Learn course (consisting of four CTE Learn modules per one credit hour) per application, so please contact us for personal assistance if you wish to enroll in more than one CTE Learn course at the same time. There are no application fees and transcripts are not required for non-degree seeking students.
