Dr. Lui received his Ph.D. from Colorado State University in 2010, and he joined the University of Central Missouri in 2014. Dr. Lui was the recipient of the Best Paper Award from the CVPR Gesture Recognition Workshop in 2012, the Honeywell Best Student Paper Award from the IEEE International Conference on Biometrics: Theory, Applications, and Systems (BTAS) in 2009, the Best Paper Award from the IEEE International Conference on Automatics Face and Gesture Recognition in 2008, and the honorable mention for the Honeywell Best Student Paper Award from BTAS in 2007.
Dr. Lui’s research interests span the areas of machine learning and computer vision, specifically face recognition and human activity recognition. His work has been cited more than 4,000 times according to Google scholar. Dr. Lui is a GIAC certified Python Coder (GPYC).
