Mr. Bloess joined the UCM faculty in the fall of 2016. He brings experience teaching construction management topics from his previous position as the Coordinator of the Construction Management Program at State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri. He also brings field and business experience to the program. He has worked for A.L. Huber and Son, Overland Park, Kansas, and owned and operated Bloess Lumber and Hardware in Sedalia, Missouri.

Mr. Bloess received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Kansas, Lawrence. His thesis addressed methods to measure and improve construction productivity.  He is an OSHA outreach trainer.  Bloess’s areas of emphasis at UCM include construction safety, construction scheduling, building codes, building mechanical systems, heavy equipment, and construction materials and methods.
