The Spotlight is made up of UCM students who are dedicated to providing a variety of entertaining and exciting events to the students. Weekly events range from comedians and educational topics to inflatables and other games to late night activities.
The Spotlight offers something for every student part of UCM's diverse community. The best part - all of Spotlight's events are FREE.
VIP (General Body Meetings)
VIP is our general body which is open to anyone. VIP meets every Thursday at 4 p.m. in Union 217. VIP members get to help decide what is brought to campus and plan events.
The Spotlight has several executive members who are over the event planning and work hard to promote events for you to enjoy.
The Spotlight offers student organization help with planning their events from providing publicity, funding or popcorn.
The Spotlight has five coordinators that plan events to campus.
Pride and Traditions is responsible for the creation of programs related to UCM Pride including athletics or academics.
Ideas and Issues is responsible for programming all educational and cultural programs that include lectures, speeches, or other such formats.
Comedy is responsible for programming all aspects of comedians, hypnotists, etc., keeping the ideas of multiculturalism when deciding on acts.
Recreation and Leisure is responsible for all events that involve novelty acts, games, and other events that do not fit into conventional categories.
Mules After Dark is responsible for planning and development of programs which encourage positive leisure after and between the hours of 8 p.m. – 1 a.m. on weeknights and weekends.
