ROB SWEENEY, President
Rob is Founder & CEO of TextCaster, a Kansas City-based mass communication company serving clients in Education, Media and Public Safety. During his business career, Rob Sweeney has held senior management positions with companies like Envoy Corporation First Data, CyberCash, Hewlett-Packard, Sybase and Palm Computing. He has a proven track record of successfully selling software and technology-based applications from the conceptual development stage to deployment in industries that include online banking, wireless communications and e-Commerce. While at Palm, Rob oversaw development of wireless and enterprise solutions for the financial industry. Shortly after leaving Palm he conceived the idea of TextCaster, a wireless text-messaging platform that could reach the patrons of all wireless carriers and paging companies in the United States and Canada.
STEVE LARSON, Vice President
Steve is the COO of Stealth Mark originating in MN. Steve has spent over 35 years in executive and operations leadership positions in high technology companies doing product development and manufacturing. Steve has received numerous leadership awards and is a combat decorated Veteran serving 3 tours of duty in Vietnam. Mr. Larson holds a degree in Business Administrations for Augsburg College in MN.
JOAN NEAL-MANSFIELD, Treasurer/Secretary
Joan received her BS and MS degrees from the University of Central Missouri and a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Joan has served as the chair of the Department of Management and Business Communications and as Dean of the Harmon College of Business Administration at UCM. She has over 30 years of experience in education and is currently a Professor of Management in the Harmon College of Business & Professional Studies. Joan's research has been published in journals and has been presented at many conferences and she has received several teaching awards.
PAUL PAGE, Board Member
Paul Page received his BS and MS degrees from Pittsburg State University and his PhD from the University of Kansas. With over 40 years of experience in higher education, he has served as Dean of the College of Arts and Science, Vice President for University Advancement and President of the University of Nevada Foundation. He also served at the University of Central Missouri as their Vice President for University Advancement and as Executive Director of the University's Foundation. Paul has served on many boards and been a consultant for many organizations on a local, state, and national level.
DAVID PEARCE, Board Member
Senator David Pearce, a Republican, is the Chairman of the Senate Education Committee and the Joint Committee on Education, as well as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee. He represents the 31st Senatorial District encompassing Johnson, Cass, Bates, and Vernon Counties. He is serving his first term as a state senator, after having served three, two-year terms in the House. Senator Pearce serves on the Missouri Veterans Commission and is an Executive Committee member of the Midwestern Higher Education Compact. Alongside his duties at the capitol, the senator is a banker with First Community Bank in Warrensburg.
WAYNE SWISHER, Board Member
Wayne was the former President and CEO of Swisher Mower and Machine Company, Inc. which specializes in manufacturing and distribution of lawn and garden equipment. The company ships its products worldwide from its headquarters in Warrensburg, Missouri. In addition to its own engineering and design activity, the company participates in a variety of joint ventures, license agreements and partnering arrangements with other companies and individual inventors.
Wayne graduated from CMSU in 1985. His experience includes fast track management opportunities at AT&T Micro-Electronics (now Lucent) before earning his MBA at Southern Methodist University. Wayn'es experience includes direct involvement in a number of other entrepreneurial ventures including: high tech, alternative energy, internet, real estate, agriculture, consumer products and related services. He was a long time member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization (now EO).
