Admissions - COVID-19 FAQs

The college transition can be a tricky one, even without a national pandemic disrupting our normal lives. The Office of Admissions at UCM has set up this page to answer your questions about admissions policies, events, and plans.

For information on the campus response to the pandemic, please visit ucmo.edu/coronavirus. We are all in this together!

General Admissions Information

Is the Office of Admissions open?

Our office in Ward Edwards is open to the public. However, we are currently undergoing construction. Please contact 660-543-4290 and an Admissions Representative will be on hand to assist you.

Is it too late to apply for Fall 2020?

Not at all! UCM is still accepting applications for students to begin coursework in August. You can apply at ucmo.edu/apply.

Can I still qualify for automatic scholarships for Fall 2020?

Absolutely! Once you apply for admission, you will be considered for automatic scholarships based on your current ACT (or SAT) scores.

The ACT/SAT tests have been cancelled. How do I gain admission?

UCM has moved to Test Optional for the Fall 2020 semester and beyond. Students who have a 3.5 GPA or higher qualify for admission without a standardized test. Please contact your Admissions Rep for more information about UCM’s Test Optional policy.

How do I contact the Office of Admissions?

You can:

How will Pass/Fail grades affect my transfer?

Students transferring with a “Pass” grade will transfer coursework as usual. “Fail” grades will count against the transfer GPA and will not meet degree requirements.

How do I apply for housing?

Admitted students can submit a housing application and $50 housing deposit to:

Office of University Housing

What if my or my family's financial circumstances change?

Financial aid awards have been made based on your current FAFSA information. However, if you or your family has experienced a substantial change in your financial situation, UCM is here to help. Please contact Student Financial Assistance to ask about Special Circumstances.

How do I enroll in classes?

Admitted freshmen must attend a New Student Orientation. Students will meet with a Success Advisor to be enrolled in courses for the Fall semester. You must register for an orientation date.

Transfer students may contact the Success Advising Center and meet with an advisor to enroll.

My previous institution is currently closed. How do I obtain my final transcript?

Most high schools and colleges have staff working remotely during this time and will respond to transcript requests. Colleges have online transcript request options that should be done at your earliest convenience.
