Donnie Wilson, Assistant Professor of Social Work, earned his MSW from Grambling State University with a concentration in individual and family. In December 2016, Mr. Wilson earned the the Certificate in Public Management through the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS  Mr. Wilson teaches social work practice and human behavior courses. His social work practice expertise includes populations with substance disorders, homelessness, disabilities, mental health, poverty, juvenile delinquency, education, as well as child and youth development. 


He serves on the Board of Directors for the Health Forward Foundation (formerly Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City) as well as on the Programs and Grants, Administrative Logistics, and Audit committees for the Health Forward Foundation. He is also the Kansas City Mayor’s appointment to the city’s Comprehensive Assessment Committee. He has served over 23 years in the non-profit sector and brings seven years of experience as a social work field instructor to the classroom.
