WARRENSBURG - 02/23/2007- Colorful costumes, dancing, and music from the Far East abound as UCM hosts the second annual Chinese Lunar New Year celebration Saturday, March 3, at Kansas City's Union Station, 30 W. Pershing Road.

Public Invited to Attend

Festivities are free and open to the public and take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the H&R Block City Stage Theatre, located on Level B. The festivities are being coordinated by UCM's Office of Community Engagement, located in Union Station.

Nancy Chen is Featured Speaker

Beginning at noon, there will be a costumed lion dance and parade, followed by guest remarks by Nancy Chen, regional administrator for the Women's Bureau, U.S. Department of Labor, Region 7. Chen in 1997 became the first Asian American regional administrator in the history of the Women's Bureau. Her duties include directing and promoting the welfare and rights of working women in a six-state region.
