Central Missouri Repertory Presents "Pump Boys and Dinettes" and "Winnie the Pooh"

 WARRENSBURG, MO (May 27, 2009) –The box office is open and the Central Missouri Repertory company is rehearsing for mainstage production of “Pump Boys and Dinettes" and the touring children’s show, “Winnie The Pooh."

“Pump Boys and Dinettes.” conceived and written by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann, will be presented June 18-20 and 25-27 in the Highlander Theatre on the UCM campus. All curtain times are 7:30 p.m.

“Winnie the Pooh,” adapted for the stage by Kristin Sergel based on the works by A.A. Milne, will be on tour with free public performances at several sites in west-central Missouri. Audiences young and old alike may enjoy performances planned for June 18 in Blue Springs at the Blue Springs Park Community Center, June 19 in Richmond at Richmond Middle School, June 24 in Carrollton at the new elementary school, June 25 at Whiteman AFB, June 26 in Clinton at the Clinton Band Shell and the final performance on June 27 in Warrensburg at the Amphitheatre next to UCM’s Alumni Park. All performances of Winnie the Pooh start at 10 a.m.

The theatre box office is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, for tickets to “Pump Boys and Dinettes.” Ticket prices are $12 for general admission, $10 for UCM faculty and staff and senior citizens, and $7 for students. Performances of “Winnie the Pooh” are open to the public and free of charge.

“Pump Boys and Dinettes” is directed by Richard Herman, professor of theatre and chair of the Department of Theatre, with musical direction by Jacob Ritter and chorography by Nick Mast. Featured performers include Krista Mensonides as Prudie, Jonathan Penick as Jackson, Jacob Ritter as LM, Julie Rose Tedrick as Rhetta, and Noah Whitmore as Jim. “Winnie the Pooh” is directed by John Wilson, professor of theatre, and features Jeremy Frazier as Christopher Robin, Adam Henry as Winnie the Pooh, Dawn Maltsbarger as Kanga, Deanna Mazdra as Roo, Callie Ott as Owl, Julie Rose Tedrick as Rabbit, Ben Wendt as Eeyore and Noah Whitmore as Piglet.

Managing the 2009 CMR Company is UCM Associate Professor Jeff Peltz, associate professor of theatre. The artistic staff for “Pump Boys and Dinettes” includes Gregory Owen, assistant professor of theatre, scenic designer; Ronnie Chamberlain, assistant professor of theatre, costume designer; Timothy Rothwell, lighting designer; Calin Driver, properties master; and Karen Billingsley, hair and makeup designer.

The artistic staff for Winnie the Pooh includes Jonathan Penick, scenic designer; and Matthew Pedersen, costume designer. The rest of the extraordinary staff serving both shows consists of Kimberly Brandt, assistant director; Michelle Moll, stage manager; Trent Reese, assistant stage manager; Joel Williams, technical director; Jonathan Wehmeyer, assistant technical director; Andrew Mechede, master carpenter; Matthew Elliott, carpenter; Kyle Shelley, master electrician/sound engineer; Karen Billingsley and Deanna Mazdra, costume shop staff; Tyler Mullen, box office manager; Matthew Pedersen and Cheryl Barker, public relations and house management; Sharree Rose, production assistant; and Colette Tilden, office professional.
