UCM Captures Six Awards in Higher Education Marketing Report Competition

WARRENSBURG, MO (April 17, 2015) – Competing with entries submitted by colleges and universities across the nation, the University of Central Missouri captured two Gold, two Silver and one Bronze award in the Higher Education Marketing Report’s 30th Annual Educational Advertising Awards. Award winners in the nation’s largest educational advertising awards competition were announced in March.

For the past 31 years, Higher Education Marketing Report has been a leading marketing publication for higher education marketing professionals. This year’s award competition featured more than 2,000 entries submitted by more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries. Gold Some 290 institutions were granted gold awards, and 206 institutions received silver awards, according to the Higher Education Marketing Report website.

UCM’s entries were submitted by the Office of University Relations’ marketing and promotion staff. A Gold Award was granted in the Brochure category for the Department of Theatre and Dance Brochure. The KCPT UCM Identity Ad also received a Gold in the Magazine Advertising/Single Ad category.

UCM also received a Silver Award in the Television Advertising/Single Spot category for a Choose Red TV commercial; a Silver Award for UCM Magazine, the university’s alumni magazine published by Alumni Relations and Development; and a Bronze Award in the Social Media category. In addition, the university received a Merit Award in the Total Recruitment category for its Choose Red promotions.

Entries were judged by a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of Higher Education Marketing Report. Entries included work created by staff members representing the various higher education institutions, as well as private advertising/marketing agencies. UCM’s entries were all done in-house.
