Mancow Named Outstanding Theatre Alumnus

WARRENSBURG - 04/10/2007 - Nationally syndicated radio personality Erich "Mancow" Muller received the Ed See Outstanding Theatre Alumnus Award from the UCM Department of Theatre Friday, April 20.

Presented Prior to Mainstage Performance


Erich "Mancow" Muller

See, professor emeritus and former chair of the Department of Theatre, presented the award to Muller prior to that evening's performance of The Miracle Worker, the UCM Department of Theatre's spring mainstage production in the James L. Highlander Theatre.

Scholarship Presented at Reception

A reception honoring Muller followed the performance in the Highlander Theatre lobby. During the reception Muller present edthe Erich "Mancow" Muller Scholarship to the 2007-2008 recipient.

Began Career at Local Radio Station

Muller received a bachelor's degree in public relations with a minor in theatre from UCM in 1988. During his college career, he was active in Department of Theatre productions and began his radio career as an on-air personality at Warrensburg radio station 1450 KOKO-AM.

"Mancow's Morning Madhouse" Gains National Syndication

Muller quickly rose to national prominence when he created his syndicated radio show, "Mancow's Morning Madhouse," in Chicago in 1994. In addition to his radio program, he also is a weekly contributor to the nationally syndicated Fox and Friends morning team on the Fox News Channel.

Recognized by Industry Peers

Muller has been recognized by his peers in the broadcasting industry with Billboard magazine's coveted "Radio Personality of the Year" award, which he received for four consecutive years. Muller also appeared on a variety of television programs, including Politically Incorrect, Jerry Springer, Late Night with David Letterman, Hard Copy and Entertainment Tonight. He is the author of a best-selling book, Dad, Dames, Demons and a Dwarf, and has been a contributing writer to, Playboy and Gear magazine.

Generous Alumnus Remembers Alma Mater

In 1999 Muller established an endowed scholarship through the UCM Foundation to assist students majoring in theatre. In 2003 he provided the university with the gift of a new mule mascot, named Mancow, to represent the university following the retirement of Abbedale, the former UCM mascot.
