Contact: Mike Greife
WARRENSBURG, MO (Feb. 2, 2009)-Student directors in UCM's Department of Theatre present the Studio Repertory Theatre production of Neil Simon's “Plaza Suite” Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6-7 in the Black Box Theatre, located in UCM's Nickerson Hall.

Simon's award-winning play consists of three acts set in a guest suite in New York's Plaza Hotel, each with its own cast of characters and director. “Visitor from Mamaroneck,” directed Kevin Fox with technical direction by Aaron Taylor, tells the story of a middle-aged woman trying to recreate her wedding night while her husband is more concerned with himself. Julie-Rose E. Tedrick stars as Karen alongside Jonathan Wehymeyer as her husband, Sam. Also in the cast is Jacob Randall as the bellhop, Trent Reese as the waiter, and Callie Ott as Ms. McCormack.

“Visitor from Hollywood,” directed by Michelle Moll with technical direction by Trevor Belt, tells the story of famous Hollywood producer, Jesse Kiplinger, who reunites with his high school girlfriend, Muriel Tate, one evening in the Plaza Hotel. The reunion turns out to be a strange turn of events when Jesse's intentions get interrupted by Muriel's fascination with his Hollywood career. Adam Henry will play the role of Jesse Kiplinger with Deanna Mazdra playing Muriel Tate.

"Visitor from Forrest Hills,” directed by Chris Notestine with technical direction by Dawn Maltsbarger, tells the story of Roy and Norma Hubley, a not-so-happily married couple who are doing everything they can to coax their daughter out of the bathroom on her wedding day. Crystal Mann and Ben Wendt play the mother and father of the bride with Kristen Janke and Noah Whitmore as Mimsey and Borden, the bride and groom.

The performance is free and open to the public. No reservations required. Children under the age of 5 will not be admitted. Doors open at 7 pm., with a curtain time of 7:30 p.m. Learn more about the Black Box Theatre, the Studio Repertory Theatre, and programs offered by the Department of Theatre by calling 660-543-4020.
