WARRENSBURG, MO (Aug. 15, 2008) - UCM welcomes faculty, staff and students back to campus for another exciting year as the 2008-2009 academic year begins this weekend.
Faculty and Staff
New faculty will be welcomed to campus during a new faculty orientation Friday, Aug. 15, followed by faculty plan day Monday, Aug. 18. Classes are slated to begin Tuesday, Aug. 19, and UCM President Aaron Podolefsky will deliver the annual State of the University address at 3:30 p.m. the same day in the Elliott Union ballroom.
Students may begin moving into UCM residence halls at 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17. Mule Haul volunteers will be available to assist with unloading vehicles and moving into the halls, and traffic will be routed through planned routes to assure quick unloading and efficient movement of vehicles to parking areas.
Taking care of the business necessary for starting a new semester can be a lot of work, but it's much easier if you know where to go and when to be there. Check out Getting Started, UCM's online guide that includes everything students need to know for a smooth transition to campus life..
A Week of Events
UCM’s Office of Campus Activities has planned the Week of Welcome to acquaint new students with campus and provide all students will a variety of exciting activities throughout their first week on campus.
Find a Part-Time Job
Students seeking part-time employment during the school year can take advantage of the Part-Time Job Fair, hosted by the UCM Office of Career Services.
While on campus, families also can begin making plans to return for UCM’s Family Weekend, which offers opportunities for students and their families to learn more about UCM while enjoyed a fun-filled weekend together.
