University Credit Program for the NJATC / NECA / IBEW / KC JATC National Training Institute

A partnership between
The National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC)
The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA)

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)
Kansas City Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (KC JATC)
Department of Career & Technology Education (CTE), University of Central Missouri (UCM)


Instructors who are part of the national JATC New Training Institute (NTI) four-year program as instructors for electrical apprenticeship training programs may apply for college credit from the University of Central Missouri. These credits may later be used towards an undergraduate or a graduate degree from UCM or be transfered to other accredited colleges.

Follow these steps:

  1. Take classes with NJATC
  2. Apply for credit from UCM following each NJATC class
  3. Submit portfolios of completed work for review by UCM faculty

CTE 4140 New Teacher Institute (3 hrs)
  CTE 4180 Adult Programs in Career Education (3 hrs)
CTE 4145 Curriculum Construction in CTE (3 hrs)
CTE 4160 Methods of Teaching CTE (3 hrs)
CTE 4165 Performance Assessment in CTE (3 hrs)



$110.00 per credit hour

Through this special program credit can be obtained at a reduced cost. This is approximately 1/3 of typical tuition, and no extra fees are added.
