The play by Enver Sayan follows the adventures of Sam and Maysa, two American tourists in Turkey, as they encounter a variety of interesting characters. Under the direction of Julie Rae Pratt, associate professor of theatre, the modern interpretation of the traditional Turkish Karagoz puppet play offers positive messages about self-image, respect for other cultures and the importance of friendship.
Educators are encouraged to utilize these daytime performances as field opportunities for Pre-K through sixth grades. Groups, as well as individuals, are invited to attend all performances. The children's performance is sponsored by the UCM Department of Theatre.
