Holiday Light Recycling Drive. Entering its third year, Southeast Enterprises’ Holiday Light Recycling Drive supports a more sustainable “green” environment in the Kansas City area. The goal for the 2013-2014 Holiday Light Recycling Drive is to recycle 34,000 pounds of unusable holiday lights otherwise bound for area landfills. Last year, Southeast Enterprises and partners were able to collect over 32,000 lbs. of non-working lights.  Year after year, we always find that one set of lights that has lost its “twinkle.”  What do we do with those lights?  We toss them into the trash.  Not anymore.  This drive is able to educate the public on just how one strand of lights they were going to throw away can add up to thousands of pounds lights being diverted from the landfill.   In addition, and in keeping with our mission, Southeast Enterprises’ Holiday Light Recycling Drive will provide employment opportunities for a majority of our 160 employees who live in Jackson County and have intellectual and developmental disabilities
