Posted: 10/30/2012 - On this 10 day study tour, you will have the opportunity to explore the wonders of several Turkish sites including the Grand Bazaar, Silk Road, the Hippodrome, and the Blue Mosque to name a few. We will then travel to the capital city of Ankara to view the criminal justice system up close, with visits to a Turkish prison, the Riot Police Unit, and the Turkish International Academy Against Drugs and Organized Crime among others. Our guide to the system will be a local Turkish police official, who will also provide lectures on the differences between the Turkish and American systems. Students can register for either 3 credits or sign up for the noncredit option (nonstudents are welcome). The program fee of $3,500 includes hotel, airfare, some meals (breakfast every day, two group lunches, and two groups dinners), two guided tours, a ferry ride between Istanbul and Bursa, and all private transportation between cities. For more information, contact Jennifer Carson at firstname.lastname@example.org. Estimated dates are May 15th-24th, 2013.
