Posted: 3/14/2013 - Resisting Aggression with Defense (R.A.D. for Men) The University of Central Missouri Department of Public Safety is sponsoring the RAD for men program. The dates and times are Thursday March 28th and April 4th and 11th 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM each night. All sessions are held at the Central Missouri Police Academy at 200 Ming Street. The course is free to attend but attendance at all three sessions is required. Participants in this course will have the opportunity to: raise their awareness of aggressive behavior, recognize how aggressive behavior impacts their lives, learn steps to avoid aggressive behavior, consider how they can be part of reducing aggression and violence, and practice hands-on self-defense skills to resist and escape aggressive behavior directed toward them. This program is designed to empower participants to make safer choices when confronted with aggressive behavior. R.A.D. is instructed by UCM Department of Public Safety Officers and is provided at no charge. The course is open to all UCM students, faculty, staff and their dependents. Members of the general public are also invited to register for the class. For more information about the course or to register, please email Sgt.
