Business Teacher Education, Minor

Teaching Tomorrow’s Leaders

Adding the Business Teacher Education Minor to your degree will prepare you to lead tomorrow’s industry leaders. Classes in cooperative education and emerging technologies will place you at the forefront of today’s educators. Through this program, you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to find your passion in both the classroom and business environments. If you love emerging technologies and want to TEACH emerging technologies, this minor is for you!

Pathway to Certification

As the largest public school Business Teacher Education (BTE) program in Missouri, we provide business and marketing education certification courses to help you obtain initial educator certification when adding this minor to your undergraduate degree.

Employment Opportunities

Business Teachers are employed in a variety of fields:

  • Certified to teach business and marketing education in the public school system (grades 9-12, with a middle school option).
  • Post-secondary programs, career centers, adult evening schools, and federal job training partnership programs.
  • Industry and business training programs.

Student Involvement

You will have multiple opportunities to be involved both on and off campus:

  • Blend of academic and business experiences including several field experiences in the classroom.
  • Participate in FBLA-PBL and/or DECA to lead school and community service activities, while competing in leadership and technical content areas at the local, state, and national levels.
