A graduate in corporate fitness is prepared to function as an exercise leader and specialist, wellness instructor, fitness specialist or personal trainer in a hospital, private, corporate or nonprofit agency. The corporate fitness programs provides foundational knowledge for career opportunities as personal trainers, strength and conditioning specialists, and corporate health and fitness promotion. Graduates may also choose to specialize in fitness center management or operation, sales, or marketing.
At UCM, we believe you learn best by doing. Before graduation, you will apply your skills through hands-on practice and application in class as well as an external internship placement. In addition, there are research and study abroad opportunities, which provide value to your learning. Experiential learning can make your resume distinctive among applicants. UCM Exercise Science faculty value teaching and student learning. Professors access and readily utilize research grade equipment in your educational experience. Demonstrations of body scans via dual energy x-ray absorptiometry and 3D motion analyses give you a new way to view the health, wellness, and movement patterns of your clientele. Applying these concepts can set you apart in your corporate fitness programming and planning. Students are encouraged to design their own research or assist professors on innovative work. Indeed, faculty will use these same research tools for their scholarly agenda.
