The University of Central Missouri Financial Process Specialist certificate program prepares students to work in small- and medium-sized businesses with a need for trained professionals who are skilled at conducting basic financial processes. Students will learn a variety of skills used in banking, accounting and the financial industry. Average annual salary for this occupation is approximately $38,600 with around 500 new jobs expected in the next five years. Through this program, students earn an industry-recognized certificate and continuing education units which may not be applied to a degree program and are not eligible for federal financial aid.

Students will learn to compute, classify and record numerical data to maintain accurate and complete financial records. In addition, participants will learn routine calculating, posting and verifying to obtain primary financial data as well as how to check the accuracy of figures, calculations and postings pertaining to business transactions. Successful graduates of this program will be ready to take the industry-recognized exam for Microsoft Office Specialist certification in Excel. A voucher for the exam is included in the course tuition.
