Through the University of Central Missouri's Medical Office Assistant with ICD-10 certificate programs, students learn the skills they need for employment in entry-level medical office positions including jobs with insurance billing responsibilities. The course includes how to effectively work in administrative medical office roles and prepares students to work in a variety of medical office environments. The need for medical office assistants is growing with job demand over the next five years projected at 2,762. Median pay for this position is $32,480, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Through this program, students earn a certificate of completion and continuing education units which may not be applied to a degree program and are not eligible for federal financial aid.
