Research Areas: Low-Dimensional Topology and Algebraic Topology
Dr. Meyer received his BS in Mathematics from Winona State University. He received his MS and PhD in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska --- Lincoln under the direction of Alexander Zupan. While at the University of Nebraska --- Lincoln, he taught a variety of courses, including Calculus 2, Multivariable Calculus, Applied Calculus, and Contemporary Mathematics.
Dr. Meyer's research interests include the topology of manifolds of dimension no greater than four. In particular, he is interested in combinatorial decompositions of three- and four-manifolds. He is also interested in knot theory in dimensions three and four, algebraic topology, and computational aspects of low-dimensional topology.
