Dan Snyder

Dr. Dan Snyder is an internationally recognized occupational safety and health leader with 32 years of consulting experience. He is both a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) in the United States and a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP). He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Science from the University of Northern Iowa and both a Master’s and Doctorate in Human Resource Development and Adult Lifelong Learning from the University of Arkansas, where his research focused on advancing professional competence and influence in the safety profession. He served in the U.S. Army’s Long Range Surveillance and later led a National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) team during Hurricane Katrina, coordinating expedited field safety training for thousands of responders under the National Incident Management System (NIMS). Founder of SafetyMentor.com, he partners with clients worldwide, providing research-based consulting, safety culture assessments, leadership coaching, and online exam preparation programs. A subject-matter expert in certification exam blueprints and competency-based education, he authored the SPAN Exam Prep workbooks and contributed to major professional publications, including the Ethics chapter in the ASSP Consultants Business Development Guide and the National Safety Council’s Pocket Guide to Safety Essentials, 2nd Edition. He has served as Director-at-Large on the ASSP Board of Directors, President of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals, and a member of the International Network of Safety and Health Professional Organizations Board of Directors. He is currently Chair of the ANSI/ASSP Z490.1 Standard. An accomplished author, educator, and speaker, Dr. Snyder is dedicated to advancing safety leadership and mentoring the next generation of occupational safety and health professionals worldwide.
