Research Areas: Software Engineering, Programming Languages, Embedded Systems/Internet of Things

Dr. Grebe received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska in 1985. He received his M.Eng. in Computer Science from University of Colorado – Boulder in 2013. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Kansas in 2018. He has 30 years of industry experience as a software engineer, working for Motorola, Wind River Systems, and Garmin. During his time in industry he developed software for the International Space Station communications system, numerous other embedded devices, operating systems, cybersecurity applications, and avionics displays. His research interests include functional programming languages, software engineering, embedded systems and the Internet of Things, and operating systems.
